Senator Mark Warner If Congress wasn't so stupid I wouldn't have nearly as much to write about. Dear Hon. Warner:
Per your website you were quoted as saying in regards to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: “This bipartisan compromise was widely supported by our nation’s leading business groups, and I was pleased to work with a centrist group of colleagues to craft the proposal that passed the Senate today."
Did the brains get sucked out of your head once you stepped into your office on Capitol Hill? You were a pretty smart guy as Governor of Virginia but to a) support this monstrosity of a bill and b) actually lie by saying this was a "bipartisan compromise" is ludicrous. Supporting this bill is one thing but then stating such a bold-faced lie is insanity. You are completely losing your credibility.
All the best, WOTDO

Senator Mark Warner Dear Hon. Warner:
I understand that your colleague from Michigan, Senator Debbie Stabenow, has resurrected the false ideals of the Fairness Doctrine and that she, along with other Democratic members of Congress, intends to pass into law this legislation in one form or another.
Just as a reminder:
Amendment I from our Bill of Rights
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
I believe it safe to say that we can both agree that any form of Fairness Doctrine-type legislation is a violation of our mutual First Amendment rights.
If, however, you are choosing to side with those who wish to tear down one of our founding principles - in fact THE FIRST founding principle, then I suggest we go full circle and insist that the Fairness Doctrine also include fairness of representation. I humbly request that of the two senators currently representing the Commonwealth of Virginia that one resign in order to be replaced by a duly elected Republican representative. I see this as the only fair way to ensure that all Virginian's voices are being heard. This same law would apply to all the 50 States.
I look forward to hearing your opinion to see whether you are on the side of the people you represent or if you instead side with the Democrats in Congress.
God bless,
WOTDO

Rep. Frank Wolf Dear Hon. Wolf:
I would like to know what the strategy of the Republican party is in response to the Democrats' desire to bring back the Fairness Doctrine in some form. I understand that originally they only wanted to address radio airwaves but are now branching that out to the Internet and television.
I believe it safe to say that any form of Fairness Doctrine is a violation of Americans' free speech rights and I am concerned with the seeming lack of response from the Republican side on this issue.
What must I do to retain my Constitutional Rights?
God bless,
WOTDO

In case you have nothing better to do (and you don't - you really need to read this) here, in all it's glory, is the complete text of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.+1: It is painful and so too will be the aftermath. - WOTDO
