CAFE Standards, Playing for Points & Dr. Evil

So as not to gloss over the impact that Obama's Executive Order that requires U.S. automakers to increase the current CAFE standards to 35 miles per gallon, let's revisit this topic briefly touched on yesterday. California has been pushing for this MPG "reform" for some time but were thwarted by that Dr. Evil affectionately known as President Bush who felt that California's standards were not in the best interest of the auto industry, its workers or the economy as a whole. However, Dr. Dolittle AKA President Obama has a differing view than Bush and pulled out his dictatorial pen signing the new standards to be imposed on vehicles in 2011. For those of us good with math we can immediately understand the gravity of this executive order. For those of us still counting on our fingers touch your pinky first and then your index. Now stop touching yourself.
